The Aleister Crowley Effect
Shelf · Occult, New Age & Theosophy 69 of 70
Exhibit AKey Evidence
- Cairo, 1904. Aleister Crowley tried to summon a spirit to impress his new wife, Rose.
- She went into a trance and kept repeating, "They are waiting for you." She said it was Horus. At the Cairo museum she walked straight to a statue of Horus. The exhibit number was 666.
- Back at the hotel, Crowley said an entity called Aiwass gave him the Book of the Law over three days.
- As Peter Tompkins describes it, Crowley believed his mission was to finish off the "Age of Osiris" and the Christian faith, and to build a new religion on its ruins.
- Crowley gave himself to those powers, and his "do what thou wilt" still shapes culture today.
Exhibit BFrom the Word
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”

This is a spiritual war. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Crowley gave himself to those powers, and his "do what thou wilt" still shapes culture today.
Expose the darkness. Christ has already won.
