Woe Unto You, Hypocrites
"Woe unto you… hypocrites!" Jesus didn't speak those words to pagans. He spoke them to the most religious men of His day. 🎬
They kept every rule on the outside, but their hearts were far from God. They had the polish without the life. Jesus still calls us past the whitewash: He doesn't want a cleaner outside, He wants a new heart. The good news is that the One who exposes our hypocrisy is the same One who washes it away.
Check your heart today. Is your faith a performance, or is it real?
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness." Matthew 23:27 (KJV)
"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
