Was Paul a False Apostle?
Exhibit AKey Evidence
- The claim: Paul is âthe false apostle that Jesus mentions in the book of Revelation.â
- The claim: Paul âgoes into Arabia for 14 years... Arabia is where Hagar and Ishmael are,â whom she calls âthe lineage of the Antichrist.â
- The claim: Paul says âas it is writtenâ âjust like how Satan does.â
- The claim: âOnce saved always saved, faith alone... no works requiredâ is âblatantly foreign to... Jesusâ words.â
- The response: âJesus himself said âit is writtenâ before Satan ever said it. Satan only mimics God.â (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10)
- The response: âPaul was simply reiterating the exact same gospel of grace and eternal security that Jesus already established in His earthly ministry.â
- The response: âPaul simply codifies what Jesus demonstrated. Salvation is a free gift received solely by faith.â
- A quick check on Arabia: Paul says he went to Arabia, returned to Damascus, and âafter three yearsâ went up to Jerusalem (Galatians 1:17-18). The âfourteen yearsâ in Galatians 2:1 is a later trip to Jerusalem, not 14 years in Arabia.
- In Revelation 2:2, Jesus commends the church at Ephesus for testing false apostles. Thatâs the church Paul labored in and wrote to (Acts 19; Ephesians).
- Peter himself counted Paulâs letters as Scripture (2 Peter 3:15-16).
Exhibit BFrom the Word
“...as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.”
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”

The claims, in her own words:
⢠Paul "goes into Arabia for 14 years... Arabia is where Hagar and Ishmael are," whom she calls "the lineage of the Antichrist."
⢠Paul says "as it is written" "just like how Satan does."
⢠"Once saved always saved, faith alone... no works required" is "blatantly foreign to... Jesus' words."
The response:
⢠"Jesus himself said 'it is written' before Satan ever said it. Satan only mimics God." (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10)
⢠"Paul was simply reiterating the exact same gospel of grace and eternal security that Jesus already established in His earthly ministry."

A quick check on Arabia: Paul says he went to Arabia, returned to Damascus, and "after three years" went up to Jerusalem (Galatians 1:17-18). The "fourteen years" in Galatians 2:1 is a later trip to Jerusalem, not 14 years in Arabia. And in Revelation 2:2, Jesus commends the church at Ephesus for testing false apostles. That's the church Paul labored in and wrote to (Acts 19; Ephesians).
Peter himself counted Paul's letters as Scripture:
"...as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures." 2 Peter 3:15-16 (NKJV)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." John 6:47 (NKJV)
