The oldest trick in the world is still being pitched to this day!
“Take. Eat. You will be like God.”
Not with God.
Not like Him in holiness.
Like Him in rank.
That is the serpent’s pitch in Genesis 3.
It did not stay in the garden.
You can hear it in the Word of Faith pulpit:
“Man was created in the God class.”
“I am a little god.”
“When I read ‘I AM,’ I smile and say, yes, I am too.”
You can hear a different version of it in Mormon exaltation:
the seed of godhood in every man.
You can hear it without shame in the occult:
“We are not servants of some God. We are our own gods.”
Same hiss. New microphone.
Scripture never says you become a deity.
It says you become a child.
Adopted. Washed. Kept.
Christ is the only begotten Son.
We share His life by grace — we do not climb onto His throne.
The lie always flatters the self.
The gospel always crucifies it.

If this helped you name the lie, save it. Send it to someone still being told they are a little god.
