The Four Most Used Passwords (Proverbs 4:23)
Exhibit AKey Evidence
- In Hackers (1995), The Plague scolds his staff for not reading his memo: "the four most used passwords are love, sex, secret, and God."
- The things people use to guard what matters most are the same things they keep closest to their hearts. Love. Desire. Secrets. God. If that's what's guarding the door, the question is what's guarding the heart.
- Scripture doesn't treat the heart as something we can leave unprotected. Everything else in life flows out of it.
Exhibit BFrom the Word
“Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.”
Clip: Hackers (1995), dir. Iain Softley. Used as fair-use commentary.

It's a throwaway line in a 90s hacker movie, but think about what it says. The things people use to guard what matters most are the same things they keep closest to their hearts. Love. Desire. Secrets. God. If that's what's guarding the door, the question is what's guarding the heart.
