#39 · A Physical Pole Shift? 5-10 Million Years
Series · Demystifying the Occult 39 of 39
Exhibit AKey Evidence
- The other kind of pole shift is a physical one, and it would take an event of tremendous energy.
- It is not part of any cycle, and no increase in solar energy could cause it.
- The poles have shifted a few degrees in the past, called true polar wander, but never a reversal.
- A Texas A&M study put that shift at five to ten degrees per million years, "the blink of an eye" in geological time.
- So when scientists call it fast, fast means millions of years.
- Predicting a date for it is ridiculous.
Exhibit BFrom the Word
“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Demystifying the Occult #39: A Physical Pole Shift? 5-10 Million Years
Theme: Part of the 2012 section of the series. Chris White turns from magnetic pole shifts to the claim of a physical pole shift: it would take an event of tremendous energy, and even the "fast" shifts scientists describe take millions of years. Weighed against the Son, before all things, by whom all things consist (Colossians 1:17, KJV).

Summary
Chris White explains that the other kind of pole shift is a physical one, and sets the record straight: it would require an event of tremendous energy, it is not part of any cycle or natural occurrence, and no increase in solar energy would be enough to cause it. The poles have shifted a few degrees in the past, what is called true polar wander, but not a reversal by any means. Citing William Sager's Texas A&M study, the shift took place at a rate of five to ten degrees per million years, which Sager called the blink of an eye in geological time. So when scientists call this event fast, they mean five to ten million years. Predicting a specific date for it is ridiculous, especially since the Mayans are said to have predicted it using precession, which has no bearing on this event no matter how well they understood it.
Key lines
- "The other kind of pole shift is a physical pole shift."
- "This would require an event of tremendous energy, and it is not part of any cycle or natural occurrence."
- "We have actually had a few degree shift of the poles in the past, but not a reversal by any means."
- "Scientists who call this event fast call fast five to ten million years."
- "Predicting a specific date for this to happen is again ridiculous."
Scripture
- Colossians 1:17 (KJV): "And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
Takeaway
Doomsday dates lean on words like "fast" and "shift" without saying what scientists actually mean by them. The earth is not on a countdown set by a calendar or the stars. It is held together by Christ, who is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
