Tests on the British Museum skull and the Quai Branly skull found they were not pre-Columbian. The last holdout was the Mitchell-Hedges “Skull of Doom.” His daughter would not allow an official study and toured it through New Age conventions instead.
In 2007 her widower took it to the Smithsonian. It was a fake, like the others. Modern tool marks. Not a lost civilization. Not a visitor from the stars.
The show kept the mystery anyway.
