The UK is not rationing fuel tonight.
What is on the table, according to the Express, is a contingency plan if a severe shortage hits:
• a possible nationwide 50 mph limit
• a cap on how much you can buy per visit
• shorter hours at the pump
• priority fuel for emergency services, utilities, public transport, and food and health deliveries
Diesel was reported at 199.11p per liter. That is about $7.52 a US gallon.
Then the speaker said it plainly: none of this has been implemented. It is under consideration.
