Rome did not “invent” the faith
Rome did not “invent” the faith. For 300 years it tried to wipe it out.
Nero onward. Lions. Fire. Diocletian even put it in stone: he had “abolished the superstition of Christ.”
Then the strategy flipped. Constantine. Official religion. Stop killing it — control it. That is when pagan symbols start getting layered on.
The film’s point: the book those persecuted people were already reading does not teach Queen of Heaven worship, graven images, or priest-only Bibles. Jeremiah names the Queen of Heaven and calls it judgment, not a root of the gospel.
A later empire dressing Mary in a goddess title does not mean the first church was Babylon. It means people stopped reading the text.
