Nobody Trusts Anybody (Micah 7:7)
Exhibit AKey Evidence
- The scene: The Thing (1982). MacReady’s tape-recorder confession: “Nobody trusts anybody now. And we’re all very tired.” Sound familiar?
- It feels like 2026: news you can’t believe, leaders you can’t trust, and everyone exhausted from trying to figure out who’s real.
- The prophet Micah lived in days like that too. His answer wasn’t despair.
- Micah: “Do not trust in a friend; do not put your confidence in a companion… Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me” (Micah 7:5, 7).
- When trust is scarce and you’re worn out, look up.
- He doesn’t lie, doesn’t change, and He hears you (Hebrews 13:8; Matthew 11:28).
Exhibit BFrom the Word
“Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; Guard the doors of your mouth From her who lies in your bosom.”
“Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.”
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
