Lewis was not subtle. In Narnia, Aslan is not a symbol standing near Christ. Lewis said Aslan is Jesus in that world. Creation in The Magician’s Nephew. The fall. The stone table. The return. The books run on Scripture.
This clip’s charge: after Barbie, Gerwig’s team changes Aslan, changes the era, changes the motive — and ships a Narnia with Christ taken out of the canon. Rock-and-roll Bowie lion instead of the Lion of Judah. You would not know any better if you only met the remake.
That is the claim. Test it when the film exists. Do not baptize a hollowed story and call it faithfulness. Do not pretend a children’s gospel can lose its King and stay the same book.
Another sign of the times: keep the wardrobe. Empty the Lion.
