Life.Church pastor Craig Groeschel is the latest high-profile speaker to step away from Life Surge. The touring Christian event had listed him and
Tim Tebow on the lineup.
Kevin Young of Ozark, Missouri, told KOCO he and his wife went to the Tulsa event in May expecting worship and personal testimony. He said what they got felt like a high-pressure sales pitch, and that he left feeling duped.
After a Mother Jones and Pablo Torre Finds Out investigation into alleged high-pressure sales tactics, Tebow said he was pausing his relationship with Life Surge.
Life Surge said it strongly disagrees with that characterization and will not apologize for who they are or the work they do.
Life.Church told KOCO that Groeschel does not plan to speak at upcoming Life Surge events and will prioritize his ministry to the church.
