Dolly could sing about Jesus and still define God like the New Age does
Dolly could sing about Jesus and still define God like the New Age does.
In this teaching, Spencer Smith walks through her own words.
She said her spiritual religion her whole life was sex, music, and God.
She traced it to age 12 — an old broken-down church, images on the wall, a droning ohm — and she walked out saying she had met God.
Then she defined God like this:
Not the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A greater higher energy.
A wisdom you tap.
God and self intertwined.
Creative gifts pulled from a “divine place.”
When they asked her about death, she didn’t preach the cross.
“You don’t really know. You just hope.”
Recycled.
Back into the great flow of divine energy.
Spread around in other wonderful ways.
That is not the gospel. That is mystery religion in a rhinestone jacket. Same language as the occult: tap the energy, recycle the soul, hope without a Savior.
Feelings are not faith. A hymn is not repentance.
Jesus is not an energy. He is the risen Lord.
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
— Proverbs 14:12
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6
