Hillsdale guest Catherine Austin Fitts (Solari) puts it bluntly: a central bank digital currency is money the issuer can program. What you can buy. Where you can spend it. Whether it turns on at all. She calls the “smart contracts” stupid contracts.
Her sharper point in this clip: the real trap is not only a CBDC label. It is an all-digital money system + digital ID. Banks and payment apps can already freeze you with merchant codes. Cars can be stopped. Homes are already wired. Snap those together and she says you get a control grid — lockdown rules enforced from orbit, money switched off if you walk too far.
She frames it as a governance problem, not a finance problem: unelected hands taking fiscal power that the Constitution reserved to the people’s representatives and the states.
